Sport & Inclusion

For the second time, Nik Hartmann was able to present an exciting forum for the Special Olympics World Winter Games Switzerland 2029 (WWG2029) at SPORT.FORUM.SWITZERLAND.

General Secretary Beat Ritschard and Silja Horber, Board member and athlete, gave an introduction to the status of the organization. Silja’s example was used to demonstrate how the WWG2029 contributes to inclusion. This social task is one of the main objectives of the event.

The UCI Cycling Road World Championships and Para-Cycling Road World Championships Zurich 2024 were held together for the first time. Daniel A. Rupf, Managing Director, presented the various successes, which were unfortunately overshadowed by the tragic accident. Nevertheless, various advances were made in terms of inclusion and public
awareness. To summarize: a stage victory for Parasport.

The second keynote speech by Michael Hagspihl, SVP Global Strategic Projects and Marketing Partnerships, Deutsche Telekom, showed with emotion and great power what a strong signal the company set as part of the Special Olympics World Games in summer 2023. Deutsche Telekom has anchored inclusion in its guidelines and was able to achieve lasting effects, especially with the volunteers program.

In the concluding discussion with Andrea Frei, Head of Corporate Communications, Würth International, Michael Hagspihl and the Director of Special Olympics Switzerland, Bruno Barth, it was emphasized once again what a great event the WWG2029 will be for Switzerland.

We are already looking forward to the next forum on November 3-4, 2025.
